Basic information about the department:
The Department of mechanical constructions and engineering product design was established by the decision of the University of East Sarajevo, in the period of development of the University and raising the quality of work, when awareness of the need to separate scientific and educational areas and the need to determine the parent units was matured (2012 – 2013).
Further, the Department inherits the tradition and uses the good practice of similar departments in BiH, but also the entire former Yugoslavia, as well as the current departments of the surrounding countries, with which it has excellent cooperation in the field of knowledge exchange and joint activities through realization of projects and organization of joint conferences and symposiums.
Mechanical constructions, design, creation, new ideas, innovative solutions are as old as the human race, and nowadays the activities carried out within this department are much more than that. The imperative of the development of every society, industry, especialy mechanical engineering, is the development of new products and machine systems, in order to meet the requirements of the modern market and the need to meet customer demands, to the level of their individual desires. That is why the subjects studied within this department are very important for the future development of mechanical engineering and industry, as a whole.
Mechanical construction and engineering product design include the study of components of mechanical systems of general and special importance for the field of mechanical engineering, their construction, calculation, load capacity and functionality, in order to solve practical, specific problems encountered by mechanical engineers in practice.
At the same time, the latest knowledge in the field is used, as well as methods and techniques of product development that are used in all developed countries of the world, using equipment available at the Faculty of mechanical engineering East Sarajevo.
The members of the department are highly educated and qualified teachers and associates, who are all employees of the University of East Sarajevo, who deal with topics in the scientific field of mechanical constructions and teach at other faculties that are not native to the field. This gives wideness in mutual cooperation and communication between all technical faculties of the University of East Sarajevo.
